BioA Brief Bio:
Our young heroine began life as a troublesome fetus, staunchly refusing to exit the womb, most likely due to premature exposure to marijuana and who knows what other illegal substances her hippy parents exposed her to. Aside from opium, I mean, because we've all known about that for years.
After a traumatic childhood filled with gymnastics meets and dance recitals and midriff-baring costumes and kick line dances set to Metallica songs, this once troublesome fetus grew into a young woman who absolutely refuses to feel any sense of shame for her many indignities. Even for liking NSYNC and the Jonas Brothers, who her mother tells her "won't screw you until they put a ring on it." That advice is right up there with: "There comes a time in every women's life when she realizes that sometimes, you just have to fake it," and of course the always useful, "That kind of guy is only good for anal."
And that pretty much brings you up to speed.
Friending Policy
I only friend people whose journals I want to read. If you friend me, that's fabulous, but be aware that I may not friend you back if you're not interested in the same things that I am. If our interests end up diverging, I may defriend you. If you're upset that I defriended you, please feel free to email me or comment to one of my posts to find out why. I like to think that my journal is a conversation, not a one-way street, so let's talk! And stuff.
Other Stuff to Know
This is an all-things journal. I talk about everything from politics (very liberal) to GLBT rights to fandom (so much fandom) to personal stuff. I have friends from all the parts of my life (except work, ha!). I am not in the closet about my fandom activities or my personal ones, for that matter. My real-life friends and family know about the slash and the American Idol obsession and the porn and the politics.
Because I am pretty political and outspoken in my views, I want everyone who comes here to know that I fully expect and welcome debate and challenges. I've been told I can be kind of intimidating, but I'm really a nice person, I promise. I care deeply about a lot of things, but most importantly my friends, and if you're awesome enough to find my journal and want to engage in discussion, I will consider you a friend. Please feel free to email me if you ever want to have a discussion, personal or political or fandom, and don't feel comfortable commenting to the journal. phaballa at livejournal dot com.
