I'll repost the actual fic to my journal later, but for now, here's the mix I made. (Yes, I do this for every story. Well, every story over 20,000 words.)

Because I am me and I always have a soundtrack when I'm writing, I made a mix. These are the songs I was listening to during the ridiculously long process of writing Dear Goodbye. First, watch this video, because yes:
And now you are ready for the music! Enjoy.
( Track listing. Yes, there are 22 songs. Hush. )

I made a fanmix in which I chose one song that, to me, is the quintessential song for each person and each pairing. Mostly NSYNC, some BSB, lots of dorkitude. I tried really hard not to use any NSYNC, BSB, or Britney. So!

( They say true love is only found in fairy tales. )

( They say true love is only found in fairy tales. )
And here, have a mix! I was going to make Lance w/puppies artwork, but then photoshop refused to work for me and anyway, it'd be pretty hard to improve upon Lance w/puppies, so just take the music and be happy!
I just want to note: Black Velvet IS lambs. Like, can you think of a more perfect song for them? NO. It is lambs embodied. Do not argue with me.
( Black velvet in that slow southern style... )

a fanmix for And the Card Attached Would Say

( Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks. )
I made a mix for
word2urmomma! Stories are (vaguely) due tomorrow, and I can't even describe my level of excitement. YAY!
DO NOT WANT: Now That's A Motherfucking Mix!

Liner Notes: This is a creepy JOSHLYNN-inspired mix to, um, inspire everyone! I hope you enjoy it. It does go along with my fic, which will be posted later. But for now, listen to the creepiness, enjoy, and write some motherfucking fics! Special thanks to
dizmo for letting me use her hilarious macro.

I don't have any fancy cover art for this, but I think the fic really speaks for itself. Still, it's me, and I love music, and music inspires me a whole lot, so here you go. Enjoy, download, etc!

Justin doesn't get bitter; he gets revenge. And you know what they say: the best revenge is living well.
( Justin's Revenge Reloaded! )
I originally created this mix while I was writing Songs About LA, and then
msktrnanny was looking for California songs, so I decided to reupload it. Here you go!

First off, for those of you who wanted it: [US5 - In Control]. The DVD was AMAZING, by the way. There's this whole strip tease bit, and beatboxing battles and Mikel breakdances awesomely and Richie picks up this tiny little girl from the audience and it's totally adorable. Jay really likes to run around with his shirt off. Also, there's this whole straight jacket bit that gave me Schizo flashbacks. If anyone really really wants it, I'll see what I can do about getting it burned.
Secondly, a mix!

Secondly, a mix!

He wasn't ready, before. The first time. He wasn't ready and you convinced him anyway because you wanted it and you were selfish and you were in love and you still thought that being in love would fix everything. But he wasn't ready and it was a mistake. He couldn't even say the words out loud—not 'I love you' because that was always the easy part, that was never the issue—'I'm gay.' Instead he would say, "It's no one else's business" or if he'd been drinking, "I can't do that to my parents" or if he'd been drinking heavily, "I still like girls, so I'm not."
"There are a lot of shades of gay," you'd tell him, and he thought that was the funniest thing ever. You didn't really get the joke.
He's different now, though, and this is different. He still says, 'It's no one else business,' but when he's drunk he says, "You're so brave" or if he's really smashed he says, "I could never do it, I'm such a coward, I could never tell."
"It's no one else's business," you tell him. He's not ready for the world and he never will be, but he's ready for you. He's ready for this, and you don't care about the rest.

( I'm counting to 100 and I promise I won't peek. )
Let's not discuss the subject of this mix, hmmkay? I'm embarassed enough as it is.

Because I am a complete and utter shmoop, I made a fanmix for the Chicagoland prologues. Yeah, ANOTHER fanmix. I can't help it. Their love is so... pie-filled! Also, I stole this fanmix layout format from
dontyouwaitup because it is awesome and makes WAY more sense than mine.

So as you all might know, we had a little JuC Author Swap on Friday. Mine was: I'm Invincible, So Are You, and I made a soundtrack for it, because I can't seem to write JuC without involving music.

( I'm invincible, so are you / we do all the things they say we can't do. )

I've decided it's Music Monday! Which is really just an excuse for me to make lame fanmixes like the big dork I am. I made this one for the wonderful and awesomely awesome
wendy, because it is her birthday, and did I mention she is AWESOME? So awesome, in fact, that she deserves some JC in her life.

liner notes: jc on jc's choices
Q: So let's talk about some of the more... interesting choices you've made here. First off, okay. 'Darling Nikki'? Do you um, relate to that?
JC: *giggles* Oh yeah, that's a great song, man. Prince is a cool cat. I mean, no one was writing songs about crazy chicks who masturbate in hotel lobbies, and then he like, totally blasted open the genre. Plus, she has a castle.
Q: Good point. A castle is always something I look for in a girl.
JC: For sure. I mean, a really big house is okay too, as long as it has a nice pool. Maybe with a waterfall.
Q: A little bit more serious now. 'Careless Whisper.'
JC: *seriously* Oh, yes. That's. Yes.
Q: Does it have some sort of personal significance?
JC: Oh man. I mean, I try to keep my personal life personal, you know? So I'm not gonna answer that. But it's a good song. I keep trying to get Lance to listen to more George Michael. "Lance," I say, "gay popstars need to stick together." It's about solidarity, you know? But then he's all, "George Michael is a pot smoking public sex fiend, so I think I'll just stick with Garth Brooks, thanks." I mean, Garth Brooks! That's just. No offense to Mr. Brooks, I bet he's a fly cat, but like. He's no George Michael. Who cares if he smokes up once in a while and falls asleep at stop lights? I mean, everyone does it once in a while!
Q: Are you saying that you have taken drugs in the past?
JC: *laughs* I'm not Justin.
Q: Okay then. Last question. 'Hot One,' off the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack. That's an interesting choice.
JC: *coyly* if you say so, man.
Q: Well, it is about gay sex. In fact, um, a lot of these songs are.
JC: I thought it was about alien sex? I mean, he's an alien, right? I really relate to aliens. Maybe because Justin's been calling me an alien since 1993, so like, I sort of get where he's coming from. It's all about taking it to the next level, you know? And um, expanding your horizons, really reaching and stretching musically and spiritually.
Q: So just to be clear, you're not trying to tell us anything about your sexuality with these song choices?
JC: Oh um. Well, you know, it's all about sex. Life is really all about sex. And at the end of the day, it's not about straight or gay or male or female. It's not, you know, about the parts involved. It's about people and connection. And, you know, orgasms are pretty cool too.
