Does anyone have Waking Up in Vegas or Chasing Cars?

(Stop judging me for wanting a Katy Perry song. She is evil, but I like the song and it's her only one that doesn't offend me.)

Yes, I am making a mix. Why? Because stori_telling goes live tomorrow, bitches!!! OMGOMG. There will be at least 3 stories! I think! And one of them will be my freaking ridiculously long amnesia fic. I still need to do a final read-through, but right now it's clocking in at 18,500 words. I've decided that anything over 15,000 words deserves a mix, and I don't need to feel guilty about it, either. So there.

I'm back! Alas. I miss Chicago already. It was such an amazing trip, blisters and all. Apparently I missed a whole fuckton of stuff, like Adam dancing with a whip and being stalked and JC Source releasing a sort of crappy song that didn't make Schizophrenic and Fab Chris having lunch with Lance's parents to ask for Lance's hand in marriage. Was there fic? Did anything else happen? I need to be updated!

In other news, I am working on a second draft of my amnesia fic for stori_telling, which reminds me, STORI TELLING FICS ARE DUE SATURDAY. Don't forget! I'm so excited to read these fics, you guys. SO EXCITED. I hope I'm not the only one who actually wrote something. EEP.

Um, you guys? I am in serious trouble here. I have had like three dreams about Adam Lambert the past three nights, and they're not even like, weird dreams where he runs a bridal shop like the dreams I have about JC. They are just dreams where A-Lamb is being awesome and Velvet Goldminey and basically himself. EEEP.

I am also considering writing Adam/Kris for stori_telling. I chose an amnesia prompt, and I mean, how great would it be to give Kris amnesia and he'd be like, "Why am I married when I am totes gay?" I think it will be an AU but I haven't decided yet for sure. It's hard to imagine Adam being anything other than Adam. Like, with a day job. Weirdness.

Me being amazing, and y'all also being amazing, I have managed to compile a list of the top 36 most awesome, insane, weird, and hilariously cracked-out plots of Lifetime Original Movies. This is a fic/art challenge not just for people who love nothing more than spending a Sunday afternoon on the couch with Tori Spelling and Meredith Baxter Burney watching as their lives get turned upside down by stalkers and surprise babies and teen orgy clubs and murderous cheerleaders. Oh no, this is so much more than that. It's for everyone who loves badfic, or who's wanted to take a seemingly insane, bad plot and turn it into something good. I like to think of Lifetime Original Movies as romance novels with invisibabies and stalking. How can you NOT want in on that?

So, I feel like I have a lot of random things to say, therefore, a list!

1) I've read about a million books in the last few months, but a couple really stood out. Recommended by wendy, I just finished H.I.V.E. by Mark Walden, which is a fantastic book about a group of kids at a boarding school training to become villains. I also read the first two books in the Tapestry series by Henry H. Neff, which I think llamabitchyo told me about. That one is VERY Harry Potter-esque, but it has less emphasis on school and more emphasis on the mythology. I enjoyed those two a lot. I've also read the Beka Cooper books by Tamora Pierce (because I read everything by Tamora Pierce!), and I enjoy those a lot. They're very different than the Alanna books, but I love that they're in Tortall and set during a different age. Her characters are always so interesting and quirky.

2) I have not seen Supernatural or Grey's or Southland (is everyone watching Southland? Because you SHOULD because it's amazing!) because last night I went to see RENT with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal!! It was fab, of course.

3) Dell Minis are on sale and I want one SO BAD OMG. I wish it were July already and I could justify putting it on my credit card. The one I want would end up being less than $350 with shipping. And it would be PINK.

4) I'm still working on the stori_telling stuff. I hope to have my sign up post ready for Monday. So if you guys think of any other brilliant Lifetime Movies before then, let me know.

5) So I haven't seen SPN or Grey's, but can we talk about LOST?? WTF. I would like your theories. OMG. ( spoilerspoiler )

6) So I've been thinking about why the Britney line from the Cornelius Timberlake skit bothered me. ( blahblahblah. )

7. American Idol renewed my faith in America this week. OMGOMG. I don't care who wins; but then, I never do. I'm just happy that Danny Gokey didn't win. Maybe that makes me a bad person, but Kris deserves to be there, and Adam deserves to be there, and the finale will be kick ass. Does anyone have Heartless, by the way? I could always buy it, but I don't think that FOX really needs my money.

So I thought last night that nothing could top A-Lamb's performance of ONE, which was soso good, but then Kris Allen did some magic thing and sang this:

Heartless. Acoustic. And for once, Randy is right. This is better than KANYE. Okay? When you do something better than Kanye, that is pretty fucking amazing. I hope Gokey goes home. He sucked balls last night, and Kris deserves to stay. Kris TRIES. He interprets. Yes, he always interprets in the same basic way, but it works and it's cool. Plus, he's cute.

In other news, I have a request! So, I created stori_telling for the Lifetime: Not Without My Daughter's Fanfic! challenge. Please feel free to join and watch the community. But my request is really this: I'm putting together plot summaries. I want to collect like... the 30 best/craziest plots of Lifetime movies. So my request to you is: tell me what your favorites are! Anything you can remember about them, if you don't remember the titles. Think of it like popstoryfinders--if you can give me some details on it, I will use my google powers and make it happen! As soon as I have my plots, I can start sign ups. Even if you're not planning on participating or reading or whatever, do a girl a favor and tell me about your favorite Lifetime movie. YAY.

One more thing! I am making a mix for Matt, who is going off to Chicago for the summer on an exciting career opportunity. He has given me the theme: animal. My other limitations are no boybands. Any ideas for me? It doesn't necessarily need to involve animals literally... for example, I am putting Motherlover on there, because it's about Cougars, right? Or something!

ETA: I remember the other random thing I wanted to say. I saw an interview on Jezebel yesterday that really made me think about Carrie Prejean. (I know, right?) But seriously. It was about America's obsession with virginity and purity while at the same time hyper-sexualizing girls and women. And the woman they were interviewing said something about how we can't resort to slut-shaming Prejean just because we don't agree with her opinion. And I think that's so true. I really hate slut-shaming, especially when it's women slut-shaming other women. It's just a way to keep each other down, and it seems to me like we should be supportive and try to consider the pressures these women are under to be perfect and pure at all times. /lecture
