First, on a sad note, I'm pretty shaken up about Anj. I don't have anything I really want to say about her right now, I'm really still trying to digest this information. I just talked to her a few weeks ago and I just, hmm, I don't know what to say. I'm going to think on it for a while, but for now, on to happier things!

So, as some of you may or may not be aware, yesterday was the deadline for the word2urmomma challenge, and we had so many participants! Well, okay, not THAT many, but way more than I ever thought I could get to write me mom fic. This challenge was very much an exercise in greediness, and I am so delighted that so many of you participated!

+How They Did Not Find Out Lance Was Gay by bououou // In which the moms get together to try to figure out which of their kids is gay, and some of them take a rather unique approach to getting their information. This was a delightful, fun little fic that included BEVERLY/LANCE, and I don't even have the words to describe how completely awesome that pairing is.

+Girl Stuff by llamabitchyo // Oh man. Okay so, this fic wins in all ways and I need everyone to please go read it right the fuck now. It's a Britney fic, with, for serious, the absolute best Britney voice I've ever read. Britney has a Lynn obsession that she slowly and subtly folds into a Justin Thing, and it's so very Electra Complex complete with male interruption on all sides, but at the same time, it's not at ALL preachy or obvious. It has turned me into a secret Britney/Justin shipper, you guys. FOR SERIOUS. Their loveissopure. And there's a secret awesome pairing that I won't give away, but yes. This fic is wonderful, I can't say it enough. Go read it.

+Apple Pie by puszysty // Joey/Karen Chasez. No, FOR REAL. Joey really likes her pie. And it's not at all creepy, until it suddenly is, and now I really find myself longing for more creepy!Karen fic because this was so fabulous and funny and Joey is so clueless. He doesn't understand his own innuendo! I love it.

+JOSHLYNN! by nopseud // Which is actually a conversation between Chris and JC about how hot Lynn is (foxy Tennessee mom!) that she actually wrote to me in an email a while back. I've been worshipping it ever since, for serious. Go read. HILARIOUS.

+Deja Voodoo by kira_j // Multiple pairings, including JOSHLYNN, trickylynn, and timbertrick. I really don't have words for how much I love this fic. It's seriously one of the very best things I've read in a long long time. Each point of view is distinct, and yet throughout she established a mood that really brings the whole thing together. It's dark and gorgeous and painful and wonderful. And oh my god, her JC is the hottest thing in the fucking world. I need to quote a little bit, just because it's so amazing:

The day before Lynn first kissed Chris, she overheard Joey asking JC and Chris which mom he thought was hottest and JC said her name.

Lynn was in the back of a Volvo station wagon, the back seats down so they could put the surfboards in. She loved the smell of Diane’s car; sand and rotting wetsuits and stale bread. JC had his elbows on his knees, topless and in large shorts. He smiled at her and the spontaneity of it almost made her blush so she looked away only to notice that she could see down the leg of his shorts. He wasn’t wearing underwear. She looked away and looked at his ankle where there were still traces of sand so that it looked like that was what she had been staring at the whole time. When she looked up, JC was saying something to Chris. Chris laughed loudly and when she looked back at JC, JC was looking at her, quiet and impassive and then he extended his legs and crossed his ankles. His stomach barely creased at all and his nipples were hard. He looked serious and suave.

I KNOW, RIGHT?? It's just. Yes! And the whole thing is filled with gorgeous, scary, wonderful moments. This is the kind of fic that lets me know exactly how much work I still need to do as a writer, and also makes me want to read every word the author has ever written. I want to grow up to be kira_j, please.

And that was the word2urmomma challenge! Now it's on to turps33's April Challenge, for which I will be attempting to write my Nick Carter gsf character thingy. *shifty eyes* We'll see how it goes. I'm going to need like ten betas. Everyone will have read it by the time it's ready to post.
