...where I go on US5 sprees. And they did a song for the HSM 3 soundtrack. And okay, they lost Chris (*sadface*) but Jay looks more and more like JC every time I see him. His hair is very ADIDAS in this, and there's one point at which Richie grabs his hand and drags him away. Man, Richie is so gay. Here's the making:
I dunno, Jay might be my favorite now. WOW, he is good looking.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away, the wonderful and lovely
wistful_fever brought to my attention a little boyband called US5. And because it is her birthday today, I decided to try my hand at some US5 fic in her honor. For those of you who have no idea who I'm talking about, a) you're lucky and b) here's a handy primer for your edification.
Gorgeous
Fandom: popslash
Pairing: Richie/Jay
Rating: Adultish
Summary: Home is where Jay is.
Comments: US5 is brilliant and if you live in the UK/Europe, I will probably be bugging you to buy their upcoming album and rip it for me, because YES, because I love them, and
wistful_fever promised me fic a year ago but since it's her birthday, instead she can have some fic, and maybe this will remind her of US5's awesomeness. Also, I have to say, it's really fun writing in a fandom that I've never even seen fic in before. I got to make up my own characterizations completely. WIN.
Warnings: recreational drug use.
As
wistful_fever would say, ( Hi, my name is Richie, and this is my boyfriend Jay. )
( In his fantasy, he remembers how he got from the bar to the dance floor to the bathroom to the hotel; in his fantasy none of that involves bodyguards and some perv in the next stall over taking pictures with his cell phone. )

So, fast forward to 7:30, and listen to the argument they have between JC and Justin and which one is better. This is some random (sort of horrible) new boyband called NLT. And apparently, they have the same exact arguments about Justin-JC that we do. HA.
And then
( sparkly music videos )
( movie quotes )
( fics with Lynn in them )
( JC songs )
For some reason, as
trumpeterofdoom pointed out, my US5 upload of In Control only had 8 songs on it. Here is the zip, now complete:
+In Control
And a few extra songs I really like, that somehow aren't on either CD:
+BOOM
+Without You

Some of you wanted US5 music, so here you go!
+Here We Go // Their first album. There are a few pretty good songs on there. The title track is fun. I also enjoy: Maria, Come Back to Me Baby, the one about not sleeping (which, in the concert DVD, is the one with straight jackets), Just Because of You... and there's a bunch. Lots of fun stuff.
+In Control // Album #2. It claims in the zip title that it's the DVD, but it's not. It's just songs. Favorites include: Rhythm of Life, BOOM, Without You. Lots of fun dance stuff. Very enjoyable.
Don't be fooled by the song titles. None of these are Nsync or Justin covers, even though they're called "Gone" and "Seniorita" and so on.
On a different note, who listened to JC's interview today re: his adoption? Because that was some interesting stuff! It was good to hear him talk about himself instead of other famous people he knows. He didn't have to talk about Britney or Justin at ALL, and the stuff about his adoption was fascinating. I could hear him getting a little choked up at the end when he was talking about how awesome his parents are and how his birth mom is wonderful too, and how lucky he feels not only to have been adopted, but that his birth mom was brave enough to make that decision.
The part that really got me was him talking about WHY his birth mom decided to give him up--that they were apartment jumping, homeless at times, he wasn't in school. I wonder if he and Chris ever talk about that. They're so much more alike than one would ever think.
ETA: You can listen to the interview here.
